Annual Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show

I was unable to attend the 2022 Rockville Antique and Classic Car show. The 2021 and 2020 shows were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I enjoy this show and look forward to attending in 2023. The 2019 Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show holds a special place in my heart. Not only was it our first time attending but it served as a reunion to other individuals that I met at other events throughout the year.

My First Build: A-Team Van Restomod

In 2021, I purchased at 1989 GMC Vandura to build the iconic van from the A-Team television show.

This is my first build. When I first purchased the van, I thought the exterior paint job would be completed in 6 months. It's almost 24 months later and the exterior hasn't been painted due to addressing mechanical priorities first. Most of my attention has been on the interior. For example, sealing holes in the floor, installing a subfloor, framing the walls, and installing a ceiling. I'm taking pictures along the way and plan to post here soon.

The left photo is when van arrived to my house. The right video is when the exhaust was modified. I had a shop install a true dual exhaust from the standard single exhaust.

U.S. Presidents

I'm excited to announce the newest resource page focusing on the automobiles of U.S. Presidents. These vehicles have an emotional connection throughout history. From the assassination of John F. Kennedy to the shooting of Ronald Reagan to the inauguration of Barack Obama. Who was the first U.S. President to have a dedicated automobile? Satisfy your curiosity now.

International

While attending a conference in Berlin, Germany, I took some time to visit Classic Remise (remise.de). As you can see, I saw many classics and they definitely live up to their name.

Awareness and Support
In 2017, I watched a feature news story of two mothers fighting for stricter tractor trailer safety regulations. Both moms lost their daughters to accidents with tractor trailers. If the industry required and enforced stricter safety regulations, the lives of many children as well as adults would be preserved. These moms are actively meeting with politicians, industry representatives, and other individuals in hopes of influencing change.I am requesting that our site visitors learn more about this organization and make a contribution.

When I first started developing the original Automotive Brief website, I learned about a gentleman in my hometown that was dedicating his time to visit children with illnesses. The gentleman's name was Lenny "Batman" Robinson. Lenny was featured in an article after receiving a ticket from the police while wearing his Batman costume. (See articles below) He was on his way to the hospital. This story resonated with me for a couple of reasons. One, my late father was a hospital chaplain who was committed to spending time talking and laughing with patients. The second because this gentleman dressed liked Batman and drove a cool car, a Lamborghini. Eventually, he traded his Lamborghini in for 1966 Batmobile. (As you can tell from above, I love this car.) Unfortunately, an accident caused the untimely death of Lenny "Batman" Robinson.
Lenny "Batman" Robinson was a volunteer of the Hope for Henry Foundation.  In addition to the many services that they offer, they have established the Lenny “Batman” Robinson Hope for Henry Program at Sinai Hospital. I am requesting that our site visitors learn more about this organization and make a contribution.
